Introduction to Project Management

Improve your ability to see your projects from conception to completion. This class provides participants with a foundation of project management techniques including meeting management, benchmarks, baseline information, communication organization and soft skills.
Desired Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Plan a project
- Communicate progress
- Write “SMART” objectives
- Evaluate alternative solutions
- Track costs associated with the project
- Use a Project Charter and basic technology tools
- Close out a project
Instructor Dale Shaver teaches this course several times a year to help people reach their project goals. As Director of Parks and Land Use for Waukesha County, he is responsible for leading his team on countywide projects, services, and functions in the areas of economic and community development. He also serves as a cabinet level advisor to the County Executive.
